We have had a propane firepit for several years. I love the fire pit and it is table height, but does not have enough of an edge to put a mug or glass on when the fire pit is not in use. We put a large tile to cover it when the fire is not lit in the summer and an ugly vinyl cover that it came with for the winter. My husband made a wooden table top that is light enough to lift off. This new table top goes over the firepit when it is not being used was the perfect answer for our front deck.

Supplies needed: 4 = 1"x4"x6 ft. long rough cut cedar fence boards, 1" drywall screws, wood glue, 60 grit sandpaper, Wood stain, Thompson's waterproofing wood sealer.
