Our Coastal Cottage Fixer Upper Before and After

BEFOREAFTER
Last year we decided to take on a huge project when we found a cottage at a coastal town two hours away.  This home had be abandonded for 7 years!  So the first BEFORE pictures are disgusting, but real!  We basically had to clean, sanitize and clear out EVERYTHING!

Woodburned whale

This nice piece of driftwood had been in my garage and I just knew I had to do a woodburning on it.  After woodburned the whale I added grey stain highlights to help it show up against the dark wood.  Outdoor art is hard to find and really brings interest to your yard or patio.  So far it is on my deck, but I may move it into the yard.

Woodburned Boxes

I have been doing quite a bit of wood burning lately so I got out some boxes I wanted to do and was pleased with the results.  They are available on my Etsy site too!  They would make great gifts or wedding ring boxes.  I always enjoy woodburning!

Firepit Cedar table top DIY

We have had a propane firepit for several years.  I love the fire pit and it is table height, but does not have enough of an edge to put a mug or glass on when the fire pit is not in use.  We put a large tile to cover it when the fire is not lit in the summer and an ugly vinyl cover that it came with for the winter.  My husband made a  wooden table top that is light enough to lift off.  This new table top goes over the firepit when it is not being used was the perfect answer for our front deck.
I will put the materials and DIY below the photos:
